Special Education & English Language Learners

EL Saber provides professional learning and support to campuses/districts that serve English Language Learners (ELLs) and who receive Special Education services. EL Saber’s services demonstrate how to extend and improve learning opportunities for diverse learners and/or students with disabilities in
accordance with state, federal, and local policies and procedures. Services include assistance with program design, technical assistance, and professional learning.

Evaluation Services for ELLs

– Focus on specialized assessments in English and/or Spanish which
determine key factors in the following areas:
• Language Proficiency or Dominance
• Dyslexia, Full and Individual Evaluations (FIE)
• Specific Learning Disability
• Cross-Battery Assessment and Regression Theory
• Intellectual Disability
• Full scale IQ and Adaptive Skills
Evaluations include a narrative report that is easy to read and interpret and is defensible.

Professional Learning

– Professional learning for teachers of ELLs and other Culturally Linguistically
Diverse Learners include:
• RTI
• Section 504 – Dyslexia
• Special Education
• Effective Interpreting (at meetings such as ARDC/LPAC/RTIC, Assessment – administering and ancillary, and parent professional learning for speakers of English and Spanish, etc.)
